Your Right to Cancel

This notice applies to consumer customers only — individuals who instruct Elevation Glazing Ltd for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. It explains your statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Business customers do not have a statutory right to cancel under these Regulations. Cancellation by business customers is governed by the Terms and Conditions agreed at the time of contract.

1. Your 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If you are a consumer and you entered into a contract with us:

  • at a distance (e.g. via our website, by phone or by email), or
  • away from our business premises (e.g. at your home or another location outside our premises)

you have the right to cancel the contract within 14 calendar days without giving any reason.

The cancellation period begins on the day we confirm your order in writing.

2. How to Cancel

To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel by a clear statement before the cancellation period expires. You may use the Model Cancellation Form below, but this is not obligatory — any clear written statement will be sufficient.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication before the 14-day period has expired. We recommend sending by email so you have a timestamped record.

3. Works Starting Within the Cancellation Period

If you request that we begin the installation works within the 14-day cancellation period, and we agree to do so, please note:

  • You will be asked to provide express written consent for works to begin within the cancellation period, and to acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once the works are fully completed.
  • If you subsequently cancel before the works are complete, you will be required to pay us a reasonable amount for the services already supplied, proportionate to the total contract price.
  • We will ask you to sign or confirm in writing that you understand and accept these terms before commencing any works within the cooling-off period.

4. Refunds on Cancellation

If you cancel within the 14-day period and works have not commenced:

  • We will refund all payments received from you, including any deposit, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your cancellation notice.
  • We will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.
  • We will not charge any fee for processing your refund.

If works have partially commenced at your request within the cooling-off period, we will deduct a reasonable charge for services already performed before refunding any balance.

Where goods have been specially ordered or manufactured for your project and cannot reasonably be resold, we reserve the right to deduct their cost from any refund, as permitted under the Regulations.

5. Contracts NOT Covered by This Notice

The right to cancel under these Regulations does not apply to:

  • Contracts entered into entirely at our business premises (e.g. if you visited our office to sign a contract).
  • Business-to-business contracts.
  • Emergency repair works requested by you where we attend at short notice to prevent damage or risk.
  • Contracts for goods made to your specification or clearly personalised products that cannot be resold (though partial refunds may still apply).

6. Model Cancellation Form

You may use this form to cancel, but it is not obligatory. A plain written statement is equally valid.
